Video: Team Vestas Wind Skipper Chris Nicholson’s In-Depth Discussion on Indian Ocean Grounding

During a leg of the Volvo Ocean Race late last month, Team Vestas Wind’s 65-foot racing yacht hit a charted reef north of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean while doing about 19 knots. Remarkably, none of the 9 people onboard suffered any serious injury. The same can’t be said about the boat.

In this interview by Sailing Anarchy‘s Alan Block, Team Vestas Wind’s Australian skipper, Chris Nicholson, sits down for a in-depth interview about the incident, discussing everything from what happened, why it happened, and what the future holds for the team.
